Part-time QEI inspector, about 20 to 30 hours a week, performing elevator and escalator inspections in Syracuse and Central New York.
Insparisk is a third party elevator inspection agency. We are looking for a QEI-certified inspector in the Syracuse area for steady part-time work, roughly 20 to 30 hours a week.
This suits an inspector who wants consistent hours without a full-time schedule, or a recently retired mechanic or inspector who still holds a current QEI.
What you will do
- Perform periodic and acceptance inspections of elevators, escalators and related devices
- Witness Category 1 and Category 5 testing and document the results accurately
- Write clear, defensible inspection reports promptly after each visit
- Work with building owners and elevator service companies to schedule inspections
- Keep your certifications current
What you need
- Current QEI certification (ASME QEI-1) from an accredited certifying organization
- New York State elevator inspector license, or able to obtain it
- Working knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1
- Valid driver license and willingness to travel within the region
Nice to have
- Experience as an IUEC mechanic or adjuster
- Experience inspecting for a third party agency or an AHJ
