QEI inspector for elevator and escalator inspections in the Baltimore region, about 20 to 30 hours a week.
Insparisk is a third party elevator inspection agency with an office in Baltimore. We are looking for a QEI-certified inspector to handle inspections in the Baltimore region, roughly 20 to 30 hours a week.
This is inspection work, not construction work: you inspect, witness tests, and write them up so an owner and the jurisdiction can both rely on the result.
What you will do
- Perform periodic and acceptance inspections of elevators, escalators and related devices
- Witness Category 1 and Category 5 testing and document the results accurately
- Write clear, defensible inspection reports promptly after each visit
- Work with building owners and elevator service companies to schedule inspections
- Keep your certifications current
What you need
- Current QEI certification (ASME QEI-1) from an accredited certifying organization
- Maryland elevator inspector license, or able to obtain it
- Working knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1
- Valid driver license and willingness to travel within the region
Nice to have
- Pennsylvania UCC Elevator Inspector certification
- Experience as an IUEC mechanic or adjuster
- Experience inspecting for a third party agency or an AHJ
