Independent contractor QEI for elevator and escalator inspections in the Austin area, about 20 to 30 hours a week.
Insparisk is a third party elevator inspection agency serving clients across the country. We are looking for a QEI-certified inspector in the Austin area to work with us as an independent contractor, roughly 20 to 30 hours a week.
This is a 1099 contractor role. You set your availability; we provide the work, the scheduling and the reporting software.
What you will do
- Perform periodic and acceptance inspections of elevators, escalators and related devices
- Witness required testing and document the results accurately
- Write clear, defensible inspection reports promptly after each visit
- Work with building owners and elevator service companies to schedule inspections
What you need
- Current QEI certification (ASME QEI-1) from an accredited certifying organization
- Texas TDLR elevator inspector registration, or able to obtain it
- Working knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1
- Valid driver license and willingness to travel within the region
Nice to have
- Experience as an IUEC mechanic or adjuster
- Experience inspecting for a third party agency or an AHJ
